Make and use this 2 ingredient homemade wood butter on your cutting boards, utensils, and charcuterie boards! Food safe and easy to prepare, this wood butter is essential for keeping up with the care of your kitchen items.
4ozfood-grade carrier oilcoconut oil, lard, mineral oil, tallow, etc SEE NOTES.
Instructions
Set up your double boiler with 1-2 inches of water in the bottom pot.
Melt your beeswax and oil of choice in the top pot, stirring occasionally.
Once fully melted, pour into your glass jar.
Allow it to set overnight.
Once cooled, cover with a lid and label with the product name and date!
To use: rub on the surface of your wooden kitchen items, wipe off any excess, and allow it to dry overnight OR gently sand with ____ grit sandpaper, wipe off the dust, apply wood butter, wipe off excess product, and allow it to dry overnight.
Notes
Do not use canola oil or olive oil for this DIY.
Be sure to label your jar with the name of the product and the date so you know what it is.
