Stir up an adrenal cocktail around midday for a happy little noncaffeinated boost! Make it with the basic recipe or add another ingredient to change it up. This delicious beverage is perfect any time of year and is a great way to avoid the urge for another cup of coffee around noon.

This adrenal cocktail recipe and its variations will become so second nature after making it just a few times. Many people, myself included, will just eyeball it and enjoy. I have come to include either some sort of raw milk kefir smoothie or adrenal cocktail variation into my daily routine over the last few years and I love it! A little variety goes a long way and I prefer these options to the beverages I see on the shelves at my local store.

There is no heat needed nor is there any fancy equipment to buy. Stir it all up and sip! It's such a quick, easy, and delicious beverage.

What are the components of an adrenal cocktail?

    • Orange juice - Make your own or do your best to buy good quality orange juice! Read the ingredient label to check it says it is truly juice and to check for any weird additional ingredients.
    • Collagen - Source a good quality collagen to add to your adrenal cocktail, I used this one!
    • Salt - Choose a good quality fine ground Himalayan pink salt or sea salt.
    • Cream of tartar - Use a good quality cream of tartar, I used this one!
    • Water - You can use filtered water or even coconut water if you prefer it!
    • Heavy cream - One variation of this recipe calls for heavy cream. Seek out a trusted local source or purchase from a good store-bought brand! Feel free to replace this with coconut milk for a non-dairy option. This will make your adrenal cocktail taste deliciously creamy!
    • Tart cherry juice - Another variation to this recipe is adding in tart cherry juice. It gives a lovely flavor to your beverage and is a great way to change it up now and then. As always, I recommend reading the ingredients list when comparing options.

What time of day should you drink an adrenal cocktail?

Midday is when I enjoy mine! Enjoy it alongside a midday snack or alongside your meal at lunchtime.
